Description of the genus
Rhizome creeping. Fronds spaced. Stipe grooved adaxialy. Lamina deltoid-pentagonal in outline, finely divided, basiscopic margins on leaflets thickened forming wings on the axes to which they are attached; lowest pair of pinnae basiscopically developed; leaf margins of pinnae thickened and forming ridges on the main axes above; intervening broad shallow channel filled with short, unbranched hairs; costae raised, veins free. Sori orbicular, indusia present or dropping of early.
