Common name

Description

Differs from subsp. vulgatum and subsp. africanum by its more broadly ovate to elliptic sterile lamina with a lenght:width ratio of 1.8:1 or less.

Derivation

vulgatum:common; kilimandscharicum: of the Kilimanjaro.

Habitat

Montane grassland or scrub, especially among large grass tussocks (eg. Miscanthus sp.) in marshy areas.
