Description of the genus

Rhizome long creeping, rhizome scales peltate. Fronds articulated, deltoid, often dimorphic, coriaceous, pinnatifid or bipinnate, glabrous, veins free. Sori submarginal, ending on the veins, indusium coriaceous, rounded or kidney shaped, attached by the base only. Pedicels of the sporangium with 3 rows of cells. Spores bilateral.
